Cookies and Tracking Technologies
CopaStats uses in-app analytics technologies (such as the Mixpanel software development kit) to record certain usage events, such as screens viewed and features used, and associate them with device identifiers (e.g., IDFV) and approximate location data (derived from IP address for purposes like country or region, with the IP itself discarded before storage) so that we can understand how the App is used and improve it over time.
These technologies do not involve the use of cookies within the App. However, under UK PECR, similar technologies like SDKs that store or access device information for analytics are generally treated in a similar way to cookies and may require prior consent unless they are strictly necessary for providing the service you request. We currently use these technologies to perform analytics and performance monitoring when you use the App so that we can understand how it is used and improve it over time. If you wish to object to this type of processing or exercise your data protection rights in relation to analytics, you can contact us using the details below and we will assess and respond to your request in line with applicable data protection laws. We continue to only collect personal information that you provide directly, such as your name through Apple Sign-In or manual input within the App.

6. Sharing Your Data
We may share your data with:

Mixpanel stores this data on European Union servers as part of its EU data residency program. For more information, see Mixpanel’s GDPR compliance page: https://mixpanel.com/legal/mixpanel-gdpr and EU Data Residency page: https://mixpanel.com/legal/eu-data-residency.
- App store providers (such as Apple or Google) and/or payment processors that handle subscription payments. These providers process your payment information directly and act as independent controllers for that payment data, while sharing limited information with us (for example, transaction or subscription status) so that we can manage your account.
- Third-party data licensors supplying football statistics and related content.
- Legal authorities, regulators, or other parties where required by law or necessary to protect our rights.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for cross-app tracking or advertising measurement.
7. International Transfers
Analytics data collected by the App is processed and stored on servers located in the European Union as part of Mixpanel’s EU data residency programme. To ensure this, we use Mixpanel’s EU project and configure the SDK to use EU endpoints (eu.mixpanel.com). Users can verify this by contacting us at info@copastats.com or reviewing Mixpanel’s documentation. Other data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK, subject to appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable data protection laws, including Standard Contractual Clauses where necessary.
In certain cases, international transfers may still occur, and Mixpanel relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and other mechanisms for such transfers. For details, see Mixpanel’s security and privacy overview: https://mixpanel.com/security-privacy, as well as their EU data residency documentation at https://docs.mixpanel.com/docs/privacy/eu-residency and https://mixpanel.com/legal/eu-data-residency.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide the service, fulfil legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When no longer needed, data is securely deleted or anonymised.
